Nuclear Free Seas Flotilla 2002

In August/September 2002 I became involved in the afloat protest of the return of the defective consignment of Plutoneum MOX fuel from Japan.

The specification of this consignment of nuclear fuel had been falsified BNFL staff to the extent that it was un-acceptable to their client the Japanese Government and it had to be returned again to the UK. The result was a trip all the way round the world of a critically dangerous cargo for absolutely no benefit at all.

Here are a small selection of photos taken while operating a blockade style protest just off Roa Island near Barrow Docks.

Also here is a journal of the protest written by Sheena Brothers, a crew member on 'The Spinner'
